On February 9, 2010 the Jefferson City Symphony Orchestra will present a "Pops" concert featuring pianist Peter Miyamoto performing Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.
Dr. Steven Houser is a Professor Emeritus in Music from Lincoln University having taught in the department for 30 years. He was a Fulbright Scholar to Egypt and has performed in Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Italy and Eqypt. Dr. Houser has been the music director and principal conductor of the Jeffferson City Symphony since 2000.
Financial assistance for this project has been provided by the Jefferson City Community Concert Association and by The Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
